Trainee Academic Affairs

We are currently seeking

a Trainee

from one of our UNIC universities for a fixed-term internship for 2–3 months for autumn 2024, in Academic Affairs. The Trainee should place this internship as part of the degree.

As a trainee in co-creation, you will be part of the international team at Academic Affairs of the University of Oulu, working with the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transitions (UNIC). Your role will be based in Academic Affairs and the new UNIC Centre for City Futures. Academic Affairs is a service unit for student and educational services. The UNIC Centre for City Futures on its part aims to provide a one-stop infrastructure for urban collaboration to both internal and external target groups of UNIC across 10 European cities. It maintains continuous interaction with cities, socially impactful businesses, and citizens. The center identifies urban challenges and guides participatory research and challenge-based learning.

Job Responsibilities:

• At Academic Affairs / International Mobility Services Help planning and organising various events (orientation weeks, study abroad festival, UNIC conference) Scheduling and planning interviews for exchange student programmes Producing materials and social media content for marketing purposes
• At UNIC Centre for City Futures you will work as part of an international UNIC Team and partner network to prepare and facilitate co-creation efforts.

What are we looking for?

To succeed and thrive in this role, we expect the following from you:

• Ongoing master’s degree studies in one of the following or similar fields: Service Design, Marketing, Interaction Studies, Cultural Anthropology or Urban Design.
• The Trainee should come from another UNIC university, excluding RePIC and SEOS students.

Additionally, we value:

• Excellent oral and written proficiency in English. Good collaboration and interpersonal skills. 

Job Salary

You are employed on a fixed-term contract for two to three months during autumn 2024. The academic year at the University of Oulu starts 5th August and ends 20th December 2024.  The job is temporary and will be filled during autumn term as agreed. This position is full time (36,25 hours per week). The salary is 1646,31 EUR/month.
