We are now looking for a

Doctoral researcher in Sustainability

to join us in Environmental and Chemical Engineering Research unit at the Faculty of Technology.

Environmental and Chemical Engineering research unit combines the expertise of process and environmental engineering, control engineering and inorganic chemistry to reach new technological and material innovations towards cleaner and sustainable environment. The research unit is composed of about 50 scientists, and offers unique infrastructure and environment for the research.

About the job

The successful candidate is expected to conduct high-level scientific research related to sustainability assessment. The offered job is related to two research projects. The first is focusing on biochar production and use in several applications from agriculture to metallurgical industry. The second project deals with production of green CO2 -based chemicals contributing to the green transition of industry. As a doctoral researcher you need to be able to master a broad range of knowledge on the subject areas.

Salary

The position is fixed-term for 28 months as of 01.05.2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position.

The salary will be based on the levels 2-4 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). Starting gross salary will be approx. 2300-2600 € per month (before taxes).
