Education Designer

The Centre for Language and Communication Lingua is now looking for a

Education Designer

for a permanent-based position starting August 1, 2025.

The Centre for Language and Communication Lingua offers language teaching in eight different languages as part of university degrees. We also offer training for the needs of the university's staff and working life. The needs of working life and internationalization play an important role in the planning of our language and communication studies. As an Education Designer, you are a part of the Study Services at the Centre for Languages and Communication Lingua, providing support for study administration and curriculum work.

About the job

• You are responsible for the practical implementation of the curriculum work, such as curriculum preparation and timetable planning, at the Centre for Language and Communication Lingua.
• You carry out tasks related to curriculum work, such as instructing staff on tasks according to the annual wheel of education.
• You support teachers in education-related administration tasks, such as timetable requests.
• You respond to service requests concerning language and communication studies.
• You will collaborate with the Faculty Study Services as well as the Lingua’s management and Education Assistant.

What are we looking for?

To succeed and enjoy the task, we expect you to have

• An applicable Master's degree
• Good oral and written skills in Finnish and English
• Active customer service attitude and eagerness to learn
• Independent and proactive approach to work
• Organization and time management skills
• Planning and coordinating skills
• Co-operation and communication skills
• IT skills for using information systems in education.

In addition, we appreciate the following:

• Knowledge of university education and academic affairs
• Knowledge of language and communication studies
• Experience in educational support service tasks, especially timetable work
• Experience of using key information systems in education, such as Peppi.

Salary of the position

This is a full-time position on a permanent basis starting August 1, 2025.

The salary will be based on level 9 of the demand level chart for other expert and support staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (a maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). The salary for an employee starting in similar positions is typically 3500–3700 euros/month.

The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
