We are now looking for a

Project researcher

to join us in the Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques Unit at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

The Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques (OPEM) research unit specializes in demanding applications in the fields of biophotonics, biomedical and industrial measurements, energy systems, and printed intelligence.

About the job

The position is part of the SIESAM Project, in the area of battery fabrication and printed electronics. The project focuses on the development of more sustainable batteries through the introduction of various solvents, environmentally friendly materials, solid electrolytes, and printing methods. 

Who are you

In order to succeed and enjoy the position, we expect from you:

  • You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • You’ve achieved strong academic results, with at least 70% of the maximum grade in both coursework and your Master’s thesis.
  • You are familiar with battery fabrication and characterization and/or printed electronics.
  • You can demonstrate sufficient English language skills to successfully pursue doctoral-level studies.

Salary

The position is fixed-term for 3 years as of 01.10.2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The salary will be based on level 6 of the demand level chart for other expert and support staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (a maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). The starting gross salary will be approximately 2500-2900 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied to the position.
