We are now looking for a full-time fixed term
in the research programme “Multidimensional Big Data and Life-Course Health: from Molecules to Society” (HEALTH-DIMENSIONS). The programme forms a part of our national profiling actions funded by the Research Council of Finland. HEALTH-DIMENSIONS is an interdisciplinary research programme led by the Faculties of Medicine and Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at the University of Oulu. The programme also covers other faculties and strengthens the university’s interdisciplinary top research cluster in prevention of the molecular and societal mechanisms underpinning the patterns of multimorbidity.
HEALTH-DIMENSIONS will engage research and impact activities in health and data sciences to define the molecular, social and societal nature of multimorbidity through the lifecourse. HEALTH-DIMENSIONS will engage high quality research and clinical implementation grounded on very large datasets (e.g. FINNGEN, Northern Finland Birth Cohort, national social and healthcare registers, electronic health records, imaging) and experimental research.

The position begins on 1st of January 2025, or as agreed, and runs until 31st of December 2029. A trial period of 6 months is applied to the position.
This is a full‐time position based in Oulu, Finland.
The University of Oulu offers an attractive compensation package based on the General Collective Agreement for Finnish Universities (level 9–11 of the demand level chart, plus performance pay of up to 50% of the salary). In practice, this equates to a monthly gross salary of between 3500-5000 €, depending on experience. The University offers flexible working hours, a family‐friendly working environment and assistance with work permits and visas, if necessary.
