University Trainees
to join the Nano and Molecular Systems (NANOMO) research unit for summer 2024.
Trainee positions
Position 1:
Job description: Practical programming of online quantum computers for demonstrating and measuring cross-talk phenomena between qubits for better quantum processor multiprogramming strategies.
Recommended competencies: Quantum mechanics I, II or similar knowledge, and good programming skills.
Duration: 3 months

Position 2:
Job description: Practical programming of various different online quantum computers for benchmarking their suitability for near-term quantum computing use-cases.
Recommended competencies: Quantum mechanics I, II or similar knowledge, and good programming skills.
Duration: 3 months

Position 3:
Job description: Practical programming of online quantum computers for near-term quantum use-cases in financial applications or quantum chemistry.
Recommended competencies: Quantum mechanics I, II or similar knowledge, and good programming skills.
Duration: 3 months

Position 4:
Job description: Assisting work in laboratory on the ion and electron spectroscopy setup.
Recommended competencies: experience working with vacuum systems, basics of electron and ion spectroscopy.
Duration: 2 months

Position 5:
Job description: First principles calculations for materials used as hydrogen storage.
Recommended competencies: Quantum mechanics, Solid state physics. Experience with first principles calculations is a plus.

Position 6:
Job description: Computational screening of 2D materials database, or solar hydrogen reactor developments.
Recommended competencies: Both require good knowledge of geometry, programming or CAD designs
