Doctoral Researcher in Educational Psychology (Reshaping agencies in AI-mediated group collaboration)

to join us in Learning and Learning Processes (LLP) Research Unit at the Faculty of Education and Psychology.

About the job

The position is part of the Eudaimonia Institute and Research Council of Finland funded project titled “Reshaping agencies in AI-mediated group collaboration”. Your role will involve conducting research on human-AI co-creation and agency by employing advanced analytical methods. You will conduct research within multidisciplinary research group of Educational Psychology, manage project-related tasks, and disseminate research findings in leading international scientific journals.

Who are you?

In order to succeed and enjoy the position, we expect from you:

• You must have a master’s degree in the fields of educational psychology, education, learning sciences, educational technologies or in a relevant field. A master's degree must have been completed before the start of the doctoral researcher's work.
• We are looking for a team player with demonstrated research experience or interest.
• We expect you to demonstrate a willingness to engage in multidisciplinary studies on human learning processes and the ethical use and development of AI systems.
• Experience in supporting and handling data collection for relevant projects.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English.

We also appreciate:

• Finnish language skills or commitment in efforts to learn proficiency during the three-year contract.
• Experience with educational technology and development is an advantage.

Salary

The position is fixed-term for 3 years as of 1.1.2026 (or as agreed).

The salary will be based on the levels 2-4 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (a maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). The starting gross salary will be approx. 2500-2900 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position.
