About the job

The position is part of the research project Spin-Delocalized Lanthanide Single-Molecule Magnets funded by the Research Council of Finland and involves aspects of computational chemistry, molecular physics and theoretical inorganic chemistry. As a doctoral researcher you will be part of a multidisciplinary research group and work on studying and designing new types of single-molecule magnets utilizing computational and theoretical methods. In addition, the project will involve the development of computational methodology utilizing high-level quantum chemical methods as well as the development of theoretical models. The specific focus of the project will depend on the specific research interests of the doctoral researcher.

The position is located at the NMR Research Unit within the Faculty of Science and the degree program in physics. The research unit consists of a multidisciplinary team of physicists and chemists working on experimental, theoretical and computational research on nuclear magnetic resonance as well as on computational and theoretical molecular magnetism. The research spans a wide field of topics at the intersection of physics and chemistry. The unit currently employs 24 people of whom about half have come from outside of Finland. The working language of the research unit is English.
