Doctoral Researcher for Northern Finland Digital Wellbeing Services (NorthDIGI) -project

to join us in the Research Unit of Health Sciences and Technology (HST) at the Faculty of Medicine.

The Research Unit of HST is a multidisciplinary research unit in the University of Oulu that provides unique, high-quality, socially influential health science and technology research and education.

About the job

Are you passionate about digital health and wellbeing? We are seeking a Doctoral Researcher to join the Northern Finland Digital Wellbeing Services (NorthDIGI) project, funded by the Research Council of Finland.

As a doctoral researcher, you will design, implement, and evaluate new digital services within healthcare and social welfare contexts. You will also work as part of a multidisciplinary research group that develops and assesses new methods and explores the factors influencing outcomes in acute and critical care—particularly in relation to digitalization and value-based healthcare.

  • Relevant background as a healthcare professional and experience from clinical work.
  • Prior experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Writing scientific articles is considered a significant plus.

Salary

The position is fixed-term for three years as of 15.01.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The salary will be based on the levels 2-4 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). Starting gross salary will be approx. 2600-2900 € per month (before taxes).  

A trial period of 6 months is applied to the position.
